Whilst in Newyork in January, i went the Museum of FIT(fashion institute of technology) and visited an amazing Japanese fashion exhibition; 'Japan Fashion
Now'. It concentrated on costume wear and touched on Tokyo streetstyle and the influence of Japanese youth fashion. It demonstrates how Japanese fashion now embraces avant-garde looks mixed with oriental design. Work of Comme des Garcons, Issey Miyake, Yohji Yamamoto and Rei Kawakubo was displayed. Some of my current work has been influenced by these designers.
